At George-Carey Church of England Primary school we ensure our teaching of science is an opportunity for children to learn about how the world works and how it is constructed.
Science should be fun and practical with hands on activities, using scientific vocabulary and theory as to how, why, where and when. We want the children to be motivated to ask questions of a scientific nature and to have the opportunity to experience science first –hand as in line with the New National Curriculum (2014).
Science is integrated into Topic themes of the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) but is taught discretely. We track and assess Science throughout the school as it is a core subject.
